My dose of lupron is 10units. I am taking lupron throughout my entire cycle. My birth control pills overlap with lupron for 5 days. The point of the birth control pills and the lupron is to put your ovaries at rest so that way when you start to stimulate them, they will respond really well. The point is for all the follicles to develop at the same rate. After you use your lupron the first time, it must be refrigerated. So when i get my injection ready, i put my 10 units then i put it in between my thumb and my finger for a few minutes so that it can return to room temperature. I was told that this would prevent the medication from hurting when it went in. And it hasn't hurt yet, the needle is very small and medicine has not burned after the injection. I also put an ice pack on my injection site for about 15 minutes before the injection, that helps with not feeling the needle and the possibility of bruising. They say to do the injection underneath your belly button and anywhere down to your hip bone and to alternate sides. Today a little blood came back out but i think that is because i was squeezing my skin too tightly, so watch for that too. Lupron day 3-done!!!! One step closer to a baby :)
